Hosting is a key element of your web presence and it should not be left to chance.
In the course of our practice, we have had the chance to work with several hosting companies, from small specialized boutique outfits to giants like GoDaddy and 1&1.
The vendors listed below have been personally chosen among the ones with the best price/features ratio, good customer support and Joomla compatibility.

In my opinion Hostgator.com is the best host for Joomla and any other Open Source, LAMP based website script. They have the best Cpanel I have worked with. They have modern and fast servers, but above all, their support people are the best around. They are by and large helpful and caring of your issues. With hostgator you'll never hear "it must be your PHP script" whenever there is a server issue (something that usually happens at every other company). They are prompt and they never (well, rarely) talk to you like you are an idiot.

Siteground.com is the ultimate Joomla host, with tutorials, how-to's and other goodies specifically for the Open Source customer. They have a lively community (user forums at hosting companies, including Hostgator, are usually a gripe fest of problems and complaints. Not so much at Siteground).

Bluehost.com has very reliable and affordable plans and a pretty good version of Cpanel. Tech support is fair and they try hard to please.
While not in the same league as Hostgator in terms of sheer features and helpful tech support, they are a viable option for a good host that's a bit cheaper than Hostgator. With plans starting at $6.95 a month and with most of the key features set on "unlimited" (beware of that word in hosting though) they are certainly a good value.
