    Arcadia University seeks a Web Developer to join the Global Information Services Team. The Web Developer will report to the Senior Web Developer of GIS and provide support for existing web-based applications.  Ideal candidates will possess an in-depth understanding of web usability, coding best practices, and a keen interest in the latest development trends, coding techniques, new media and devices.

    Responsibilities:
    • Contribute to our Web Technology Strategy including the identification of tools and best practices.
    • Manage multiple assigned project tasks in a strict deadline-driven environment.
    • Work closely with creative and project management staff and faculty members to ensure successful roll-outs.
    • Provide support for GIS web-based systems including implementation of the enhancements and upgrades to the Content Management Systems (Ektron, Drupal, Wordpress, CampusEAI, Koha)
    • Create and maintain web forms.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve all issues related to website development including program coding, debugging and testing.
    • GIS provides 24x7 support for critical systems.  This position requires off-hours support if critical systems fail or need maintenance.  

    Required Skills:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited institution OR equivalent work experience.
    • A minimum of 3 years web development experience including front-end and back-end development and work with Open Source CMS software (Drupal & Wordpress)
    • Languages: HTML & CSS (with a working understanding of HTML5 and CSS3), Javascript, PHP, .NET.
    • Familiarity with Linux and Windows based web servers, especially Apache & IIS
    • Ability to manage multiple projects is a must.
    • An understanding and passion for good user experience.

    Desired Skills:
    • An eye for good design (Color, typography, visual hierarchy, etc).
    • An interest to learn new technology and work out of your technical comfort zone.
    • The ability to collaborate with functional organizations to develop web based solutions for a non-technical community.

    How you’ll be successful at DLX.

    As a QA Engineer, you will be part of an Agile delivery team working directly with Development, Requirements Analysts, Scrum Masters and Product Owners to help ensure business, technical and functional requirements are complete and testable. Specifically you will:
    • Develop and execute test plans, test cases and scripts for your agile delivery team. The type of tests performed will vary by user story but may include functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, data integrity testing and stress testing as well as assisting with user acceptance testing.
    • Identify and log defects, capturing steps to reproduce (actual vs. expected) and relevant details of the issue.
    • Investigate root cause of issues through analysis of log files, databases and environments.
    • Verify resolutions of tickets through retesting, management and assignment of ticket as required.
    • Work with agile team members to help reproduce and further clarify logged issues.
    • Demo the finished product to end users, agile delivery teams and other stakeholders.
    • Participate in standard scrum rituals such as daily stand-ups, iteration planning, backlog grooming, etc.
    • Proactively identify areas of improvement. Create and execute on solutions for the QA functional team and the assigned agile delivery team(s).
