SupportOurTroops.org

supportourtroops.org
  • Site Name: SupportOurTroops.org
  • Site URL: www.SupportOurTroops.org
  • Purpose: Non-Prit, News, E-commerce, Community
  • Technology: Joomla! 1.0.x, Virtuemart, Community Builder, Acajoom and more.
  • Notes: SupportOurTroops.org is one of our "Charter" clients. We are currently in a long term contract with the association as permanent technical consultant and web developers and we continue to offer pro-bono as well as fee based services. The SupportOurTroops.org website is actually three different websites into one.The site incorporates several community based features, including a e-store and a private area for trademark licensing. Because we closely identify with Support Our Troop's mission, we have donated and continue to donate a great deal of time to the association and the other satellite websites they operate. Since its launch, SupportOurTroops.org has been growing by leaps and bounds, doubling membership every couple of months. Still, the initial coding was strong enough not to strain under the increased traffic. The site is slated to get a major face lift in the coming year coinciding with the release of more advanced community features.

ff1600.org.au

ff1600.org.au
  • Site Name: ff1600.org.au
  • Site URL: ff1600.org.au
  • Purpose: Community, CMS, News
  • Technology: Text
  • Notes: ff1600.org.au is a satellite association for the Australian Formula 3 racing circuit. A non profit organization, they asked us to substitute their statically driven website with a website they could keep updated themselves. It's fair to say that ff1600.org.au is the farthest client we have ever had, being based in Australia. Proof that, while we try to focus our web development services in the Sacramento Area, we are not afraid of comparing our work on an international level. We designed a compelling and professional template, several custom scripts such as calendars and templating systems for race results, drivers profiles and content management. Since we have delivered the site (in summer 2006) the principals of the organization have been able to maintain the website on their own with almost no help from us. Further proof that when a website is built well, there is no need for expensive maintenance.

Norcalsolar.org

norcalsolar.org
  • Site Name: Norcalsolar.org
  • Site URL: www.Norcalsolar.org
  • Purpose: Non-profit, community, B2B
  • Technology: Text
  • Notes: Norcalsolar.org, a California Solar Energy Non-Profit, approached us to rebuild their website originally built around a custom PHP script. Before contacting us they had tried to build a new version of their site in house using the Joomla CMS. Upon reviewing their initial attempt we decided to rebuild the site using a brand new Joomla installation but we tried to maintain the same color scheme they had developed in house while polishing the graphical elements to a more professional level. The site is currently being managed in-house by a new team.

RayLeBov.com

raylebov.com
  • Site Name: RayLeBov.com
  • Site URL: www.RayLeBov.com
  • Purpose: News, Class scheduling, online registrations
  • Technology: Joomla! 1.0.x
  • Notes: Ray LeBov is a nationally recognized teacher and lecturer with a successful series of Lobbying Seminars for individuals and corporations. Ray LeBov's site started out as a simple "Brochure" type site, meaning that there are no interactive or advanced features beside the usual "contact" form and few others, but because of our choice to use Joomla! CMS even in sites that are traditionally built statically, we were able to provide the client with an integrated booking system for his seminars at little extra cost and after the initial website was delivered.

AFTIP.net

aftip.net

  • Site Name: AFTIP.net
  • Site URL: AFTIP.net
  • Purpose: Non-Profit
  • Technology: Joomla! 1.0.x
  • Notes: AFTIP.net is a website we built for "Americans for Truth in Politics", a Colorado based non-profit lobbying group. What makes this site worthy of inclusion in our portfolio is that the site's main areas were built in little more than an hour from the time the client called us to inquire if we could build a site for them in record time and when the site went live. The client needed the site because of new governmental requirements in regard to lobbying groups. They needed a domain name, a publicly available website and a contact form from the site's domain name. All before day end and at a reasonable price. The client did not have a domain name or a hosting account and they had no idea on how to go about it. We guided them to purchase a domain name from Godaddy.com while we setup a new hosting account on one of our servers. Once we purchased and redirected the domain we installed Joomla CMS, we picked a template we designed for a previous project, changed the graphics a bit and we launched the site while we were still on the phone with the client.

CooltechMarketplace.com

cooltechmarketplace.com
  • Site Name: CooltechMarketplace.com
  • Site URL: www.CooltechMarketplace.com
  • Purpose: E-commerce
  • Technology: Zen Cart 1.3.5
  • Notes: Built in Zen Cart, Cooltechmarketplace.com is one of our earlier e-commerce works. The site sells high tech products related to a unique process for maintaining specified cooling temperatures in items such as whine sleeves (for serving wine at the proper temperature and, coming soon, medical and everyday uses such as cooling vests and cold packs for sport injuries. Cooltechmarketplace.com had hired 3 different design firms prior to working with us. Their original site reflected the different styles of their designers and was suffering from outdated HTML code, seriously outdated design elements and poor optimization of the user interface. Originally designated as an add-on project to the existing site we were able to show the owner that a complete redesign was just as economical and that the end result would surpass their expectations.

WalcherOrchards.com

walcherorchards.com
  • Site Name: WalcherOrchards.com
  • Site URL: Walcherorchards.com
  • Purpose: E-commerce
  • Technology: OS Commerce
  • Notes: Walcherorchards.com is a family owned Peach growing Orchard based in Colorado. Walcher Orchards peaches may very well be some of the best peaches in the world, online or offline. The peaches are handpicked and individually wrapped by the owners throughout the growing season. Walcher Orchards ships their peaches via FedEx to deliver the freshet vine-ripened peaches possible. WalcherOrchards.com was designed originally by an Overseas firm and it's based on the venerable OScommerce Open Source shopping cart. The owners were initially quoted less than $500 for the complete job with a delivery time of about 2 weeks. Unfortunately, delivering even a simple shopping cart on such a low budget and quick turnaround is beyond the possibilities of even the most economical overseas contractor. Months later, having missed the harvest season, the project's budget had quadrupled and it still was not working properly. That's when the owners contacted us hoping to at least have a working website by the time of the next harvest season. I made the decision to leave the HTML code as it was and concentrate on the cart's functionality. The strategy proved right and WalcherOrchards.com has been working flawlessly ever since. We are now on our third successful season. The website closes when not in season, but there are plans to sell other products during the winter months.
